Carrie started life as a novel by Stephen King in 1974 but was swiftly turned into a feature length film in 1976 with Brian De Palma as Director. Carrie the novel and original movie are both, still to this day, regarded as the best in their respective mediums. Now, in 2013, we have news of a remake – something that I am excited and a little nervous about.
In my opinion, Carrie is one of those movies that you just shouldn’t “need” to remake, the story and portrayal are as frightening today as they were on its first release on 3rd November 1976. I maybe a little biased as I am a HUGE Stephen King fan and have fallen in love with both the novel and movie countless times. I will try to keep my worries from spoiling what could be a fantastic remake for myself and I will try my very best to keep an “open mind” when I eventually go along to the cinema!
The 2013 remake of Carrie is due for release on 18th October 2013 – another one of those lovely Halloween horror movies! I have attached the first Carrie 2013 Trailer below, let me know what you think!
P.S: The Trailer does look pretty damn good!
